The construction of a v ring seal is divided into three parts. The v ring can be used alone to protect a wide assortment of bearing types from contaminants while reliably retaining the lubricant. The v ring is mounted on the shaft and seals the counter surface. A v ring is produced slightly smaller than the shaft itself causing it to clamp onto the shaft.

V rings seal axially against a counter face. Designed with a long flexible lip the v ring can act as a face seal a lip seal or slinger. This type of seal has proved to be reliable and effective against dust dirt water and oil splash and other media. The lip of the seal prevents liquids and dust from the outside.
